some blog some don't -  The Smart Wiki : Main - Test

How is this still happening?

I like to think that I have a healthy reverence for the environment, nature, and all that exciting business. Also, I'll happily admit that the vast majority of our own world is still a mystery. Still, each and every time something like this comes along I can't help but feel amazed. How, after all these thousands of years, are we still coming across species we have never seen before? By amazed, of course, I mean "insanely jealous of the scientists involved" and "regret for no longer being a scientist".

***Disclaimer: this blog post is about to transition from normal nerd to super nerd***

Am I the only one whose ultimate lifelong dream is to have the opportunity to travel to another planet in order to discover, classify, and study all the new and unique species of plants and animals?

Speaking of other planets, check out these pictures of Saturn that were just released.

02/26/2007 - The new blog system for somesmart.com

In an attempt to encourage audience participation, and to actually offer more of a "blog" atmosphere on the front page, I've decided to attempt to implement this blogging and comment posting back end interface. This is all very new to me (both the blogging and the interface) so you'll have to forgive me if it takes some time to get up an running properly. Also, there will hopefully be others who will participate so it won't just be my ramblings.

In addition to just allowing for comments from all, I also hope to, at least with my own blogging, develop some sort of a focus. Currently, I'm leaning towards nerdy endeavors such as video games, logic, philosophy, the creative process, and local wildlife. I may fail miserably, of course, but it's at least worth the effort. Don't worry, though, the wiki part of the site will remain, this will just serve as a launch pad of sorts.

Speaking of local wildlife here's an awesome image Josh created of a tree:
